Need a lawyer for a veteran's aid case in New York? Our law firm helps veterans throughout New York City in seeking the long term care benefits they need. Veterans Aid and Attendance Benefit / Veterans Pension

Veterans Aid and Attendance Benefit, also referred to as Veterans Pension, may provide money to a veteran or his or her spouse for assisted living, home care or nursing home care. Depending on the situation and qualification requirements, a veteran may be able to qualify for up to $1,949 per month in additional income Veterans Aid and Attendance Benefit.

Eligibility for Veterans Aid and Attendance Benefit typically includes the following:

  • The veteran must have served on active duty for at least 90 days during a period of war.
  • The veteran must have been honorably discharged.
  • The veteran must be 65 years or older or must be totally disabled.
  • The household income of the veteran must not exceed the Maximum Allowable Pension Rate (MAPR) for that veteran's category (this level may vary depending on the particular situation). This income may be adjusted in accordance with unreimbursed medical expenses.
