Mr. Melnik is a Co-Chairman of OPORA - Outreach of Professionals and Organizations for Russian Americans, Inc. OPORA is a nationwide nonprofit organization with a mission of educating and facilitating the wellbeing of Russian Americans. Mr. Melnik is also a member of the advisory board of Young Leadership Initiative - a non-profit undertaking aimed in identifying and developing future political leaders.

For many years Mr. Melnik has been working with and assisting many non-profit organizations throughout the country. He regularly helps organize and assists many non-profit and religious organizations in reaching their financial and non-financial goals.

Mr. Melnik does a lot of pro-bono work by educating and assisting low income individuals free of charge. He is a coach of a youth soccer team and plays a classical guitar. Mr. Melnik is happily married and has three wonderful kids who make him proud.
